Afoot Privacy Policy
Effective July 10, 2026
Who we are
Afoot is a standalone Apple Watch app that finds walkable places near you matching your tastes. This policy explains what data the app touches and where it goes.
Location
Afoot uses your location for exactly one purpose: finding places near you. Location is processed on your watch. To perform a search, your approximate location is sent to Apple's MapKit service — the same system Apple Maps uses — which is governed by Apple's privacy policy. We never receive, store, or transmit your location to any server of our own, because we don't have any.
Your preferences
Your chosen categories, walkability radius, theme, and settings are stored only on your device (and its watch app storage container). They are never uploaded anywhere.
Notifications
New-place alerts are generated entirely on your watch by comparing new search results against previous ones. No notification data leaves the device. Alerts can be turned off in Settings at any time.
Analytics and tracking
Afoot collects no analytics and contains no advertising or tracking of any kind. If a future update ever introduces anonymous usage statistics, this policy will be updated first and the App Store privacy label will reflect it.
Children
Afoot is not directed at children and, as described above, collects no personal data from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated effective date.
